This agreement is between RUFUS RETROISTICS ("the company", "we") and you, the person helping ("you"). It covers any work you do for the Outpost project, such as designs, drawings, engineering, code, photos, video, writing, fabrication, or ideas you share with us ("Contributions").
You're helping voluntarily. You aren't an employee, contractor, or partner, and you won't be paid unless we both sign a separate written agreement saying so. This agreement doesn't promise you a job, ownership in the company, or any other future benefit.
You assign to the company all rights you have in your Contributions, including copyrights, design rights, patent rights, and trademark rights, everywhere in the world. That means the company can use, change, sell, register, and protect them without asking you again. If you ever need to sign paperwork to confirm this, you agree to do so.
Where the law allows, you waive any "moral rights" in your Contributions, such as the right to be named or to object to changes. This matters in Canada and some other places. We'll still try to credit you when it makes sense.
You confirm that your Contributions are your own original work, or that you have the right to give them to us. Don't contribute anything that belongs to your employer, a client, or anyone else, or anything copied from another company's product.
Some of what you see may not be public yet, such as unreleased designs, supplier details, and plans. Please keep it private until we share it publicly. This doesn't cover things you already knew or that are already public.
We may credit you by name in the build log, on the website, or elsewhere. If you'd rather not be named, just tell us.
If you're building, welding, or testing anything, follow safe practices and use proper protective gear. You're responsible for your own safety when working on your own time and in your own space.
You can stop helping at any time, and we can stop working with you at any time. Sections 2 through 6 continue to apply to Contributions you already made.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA. It's the whole agreement about your volunteer Contributions, and any change has to be in writing.
Before you start working on anything, we'll send you this agreement to sign. Checking the box on the Help build it form tells us you've read it and are willing to sign.
